Save Wild Roses! Season 2 cancelled

If you are a fan of the hit CBC television show 'Wild Roses', I've got some bad news for you. CBC has decided not to run another season. Wow...I am soooo disappointed. And so are many others.

This was one of the best Canadian TV shows we've ever had. Not to mention that Wild Roses ended with a bang at the end of the first season. I need closure! I need to find out if anyone dies in the explosion. They can't just leave us hanging like this. It's not fair!

There are only 2 Canadian shows I've been watching regularly--Wild Roses and Being Erica. Everything else is American. Not that I don't love their shows, I do. But Wild Roses really captured the Alberta flavor. Many of my US friends and fans wanted to watch it.

This is a sad time in Canadian television history. Cutting great shows like this is like taking away a part of our heritage, the part that makes us Canadian and keeps us so. Well, I'm taking a stand. I've signed a petition to save Wild Roses. I hope you'll consider signing it too.

CBC, don't axe this show! Wild Roses deserves its spot. Last month I signed a petition to save the CBC. If you keep cutting awesome shows like Wild Roses, next time I won't bother.

Are you a 'Wild Roses' fan who's wondering what that catchy theme song is?

I've noticed a lot of people are coming to my blog because I wrote about my new favorite TV show on CBC--WILD ROSES, which airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. Everyone wants to know the answer to one burning question...

"What is that very catchy theme song on Wild Roses, and who sings it?"

Well, I've got the answer.

The song is called Black Horse & the Cherry Tree, by KT Tunstall.

You'll find the lyrics below (for entertainment purposes only):

two, three, four

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

well my heart knows me better than i know myself
so i'm gonna let it do all the talking.
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)
i came across a place in the middle of nowhere
with a big black horse and a cherry tree.
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

i fell in fear, upon my back
i said don't look back, just keep on walking.
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)
when the big black horse that looked this way,
said hey lady, will you marry me?
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

but i said no, no, no,no-no-no
i said no, no, you're not the one for me
no, no, no,no-no-no
i said no, no, you're not the one for me

(ooooo,woo-hoo)

and my heart had a problem, in the early hours,
so it stopped it dead for a beat or two.
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)
but i cut some cord, and i shouldn't have done that,
and it won't forgive me after all these years
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

so i sent her to a place in the middle of nowhere
with a big black horse and a cherry tree.
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)
now it won't come back , cause it's oh so happy
and now i've got a hole for the world to see
(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

but it said no, no, no,no-no-no
i said no, no, you're not the one for me
no, no, no,no-no-no
said no, no, you're not the one for me

(ooooo,woo-hoo) (not the one for me, yeah)
(ooooo,woo-hoo)
said no,no, no,no, no, no, no
you're not the one for me
said no,no, no,no, no, no, no
you're not the one for me

big black horse and a cherry tree
i can't quite get there cause they've all forsken me
big black horse and a cherry tree
i can't quite get there cause they've all forsken me

My original post:

I started watching a new TV series 3 weeks ago because it's set in Alberta, where I'm living. It's called "Wild Roses" and it airs Tuesday nights on CBC at 9:00 PM.

I'm on a mission to help promote "Wild Roses", a new prime time drama that is being described as the Canadian version of Dallas. In fact, I see it as a mix of Dallas and Dynasty, only set in Calgary, Alberta--OIL country. Two of the stars of Wild Roses are my Facebook friends, so I'd like to help them out.

Based on the first 4 episodes' numbers, CBC will decide whether to renew the show for a second season. Since it's "crunch time", please watch the show on Tuesday, January 27th at 9:00 PM on CBC. And please tell your family and friends about "Wild Roses".
