Join SFA and donate books to support international literacy

I recently became a member of Shadow Forest Authors (SFA), an organization that supports and promotes international literacy.

I am donating new and used books to SFA's various beneficiaries who then see that these books go to people around the world. What a wonderful movement to be involved in.

I invite all my fellow authors to consider doing the same. All that's required is a minimum 1 book donation. I've personally decided to donate more and will continue to do so throughout the year.

Six Seconds book video trailer

Cheryl is interviewed about iPhone novel in The Vancouver Courier

After news spread across North America about the novel I am writing on my iPhone 3G, I have had the pleasure of being interviewed for TV, radio, newspapers and websites, plus I was contacted by Stan Soper, the founder of Textnovel.com, a website devoted to cell phone novels or serialized fiction by phone.

Stan states: "I started Textnovel™ after I stumbled across an article in the New York Times on Japanese teenagers who were writing and reading fiction on their cellphones and publishing them on websites."

This fad has quickly spread across Japan over the past few years and resulted in a number of bestselling novels written mainly by teenagers with no previous writing or publishing experience. Many of the novels were written using cell phone lingo (LOL) and most are Young Adult (YA) novels.

With my novel Finding Bliss I take cell phone novels to a whole new level. Not only am I the first person to attempt to write an entire novel using the Notes application on my iPhone 3G, it'll be written with my normal style (no cell phone lingo) and will feature a character who uses and iPhone 3G. Sunday Salon: The Good Guy by Dean Koontz is maybe just a bit too good

I spent the past week in Las Vegas and actually had very little reading time, so I have not yet completed The Good Guy. I can tell you that the premise is very intriguing and I can't wait to see where the story goes.

Basically, you have the protagonist who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and is mistaken for someone else--someone who appears to be a contract killer. Someone wants a woman dead. The "good guy" takes it upon himself to insert himself between this woman and the real killer. And the chase begins. I'm not far enough in to predict much, but I have a feeling there may be a few twists along the way.

Dean Koontz has always been one of my top 2 idols. But I have to admit, I have a small complaint about this novel. Something seems off in the writing of The Good Guy. There is witty banter between the main protagonist and the bartender. Witty banter between the main protagonist and the woman. It is getting a bit tiring. It makes everyone seem too good, too nonchalant, too flippant.

I'm a fan of offbeat witty banter, if done in moderation. I don't believe everyone talks this way or responds this way all the time, so it must fit the characters. I use banter with some of the characters in my Divine series, but I try to keep it real, and it must be balanced by a character's deeper emotions, otherwise they appear flat and lacking in emotion. They can't joke their way out of everything.

I'm hoping that as The Good Guy progresses, the dialogue becomes more meaningful and deeper. That's what I want to see in the characters I read about. Show me their thoughts and emotions, and make me feel what they're feeling. I'm hoping The Good Guy will end up being a really GOOD read. I'll let you know. :)

Craig Ferguson at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas

Tonight my husband and I went to see Craig Ferguson live at the MGM Grand. In fact, we're watching his TV show--The Late, Late Show--right now. He is even funnier in person! I don't think I've laughed that hard in a very long time.

Our evening started with a quick caffeine fix at Starbucks in our hotel--Mandalay Bay. When I spotted The Reading Room, I was very surprised. Prior to arriving in Las Vegas I had checked online to find out where the nearest bookstores were located. I had read that The Reading Room was closing, which I thought was so sad. But the gal in the store told me the sale deal had fallen through, so it's still open. (I wish I had known earlier; I would have loved to have done a book signing there!)

Afterward, Marc and I headed for the MGM Grand. Shortly after we were seated, a gal named Doris came up to us and apologized for staring. I wasn't sure what she was talking about. Had I spilled my drink down my shirt or was my hair sticking up? lol Doris then said I looked like a star from a TV show. I think Doris became my new best friend in that moment. :-) She totally made my night--maybe even my month.

Marc and I got such a kick out of this. Of course I just had to tell her that while I'm not a movie star (although, hey, I was in a few TV shows as an extra...does that count? lol), I am an author from Canada. We chatted with Doris off and on throughout the night. She made us feel so welcome that I had to give her one of my bookmarks. (MGM, you'd better keep that gal around--she's wonderful!)

So thank you, Doris. I enjoyed talking with you, and yes you DO remind me of Whoopie (and I love her!) I hope to see you next time we're in town, and thank you so much for giving my extra bookmark to the security guard so he could give it to Craig. One of my goals is to one day be one of Craig Ferguson's guests. I told my husband this months ago. So Craig, if you happen to find my blog, call me! Or email me! :-)

Thanks also to Jenn, the first person we met who is actually FROM Las Vegas. In fact she was born and raised here--and she takes great photos. You're awesome, Jenn! (She so reminds me of my good friend and fellow author Kelly Komm.)

One thing I've noticed about Vegas, most of the people living and working here are super friendly, wonderful people. With the exception of one cab driver, everyone took an interest in us, in where we're from, and as Canadians in Vegas we felt very welcome. Thank you, Las Vegas!

Tomorrow is our last day. We leave in the evening. We plan to spend the day by the pool. We're pretty tired; there is just so much to do here. I do have a few tips for any of you who may be planning a trip to Las Vegas...

• bring good walking shoes or runners
• don't fully pack your suitcase; you'll want to do some shopping at the outlet stores
• pace yourself and don't try to see and do everything in 5 days
• try eating out in different hotels and restaurants
• rent a luxury car and drive to Hoover Dam
• bring Febreze air freshener for hotel room
• when gambling in casinos, you can drink for free
• set a daily limit for gambling and don't overspend
• see any Cirque du Soleil style show

And remember, in Vegas you can be a "naughty monkey" (Craig Ferguson's favorite term) all you want, but eventually you'll have to go home. So don't forget this town's motto: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! ;-)

Corvette C6 convertible, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas strip

Yesterday's adventures started off with the breakfast special at La Salsa Cantina. If you're looking for a great deal on breakie in Vegas, this is it! Afterward we picked up a shiny yellow Corvette C6 convertible and headed for the Hoover Dam. While many people would enjoy a bus tour with all the interesting history lessons, I have to admit, I liked that we drove ourselves and could do what we wanted. The drive was relaxing. We stopped for lunch in Boulder City and drove across the top of Hoover Dam twice. Then we headed back to Vegas.

We went to the House of Blues for dinner. The Wednesday special was a creole linguine--yum! Later, after the sun set, we drove down the strip and into old Vegas. Lights, lights and more lights. :) We ended up back at the Mandalay Bay Casino and I had a bit of a lucky streak on the Reel Money slots. Won a couple hundred bucks, which for some people might not be much but for me, I was happy. I usually go broke within a few minutes...hehe We were up til 2 a.m.

Today we're relaxing by the pool, soaking up some rays. Later this evening we're going to see Craig Ferguson. Marc and I watch his show--The Late, Late Show--most nights back home in Edmonton. I was so surprised to see he's here in Vegas, since I've been saying to Marc for months that when we go to California we WILL be seeing Craig. Hey, any show hosted by a very funny Scotsman from Glascow works for me. I have relatives in Glascow. And that Craig Ferguson never fails to make me laugh. He's such a "naughty monkey"!!! (I'll have to find a brown dress--apparently Craig likes gals in brown dresses.)

Yeah, we're livin' la vida loco in Las Vegas. ;-)

Planet Hollywood, Villa Reale & Mystere in Las Vegas

Yesterday's adventures in Las Vegas began with a jaunt to Tix 4 Tonight for some great deals on half price show tickets. We bought tickets for the Cirque du Soleil show called MYSTERE, plus we were given a discount for dinner at Planet Hollywood. After that we made arrangements to rent a Corvette C6 convertible (for today's adventures). We had lunch at La Salsa Cantina; their nachos are excellent! Then we relaxed for the afternoon.

Later, we had an excellent dinner at Planet Hollywood, which is in Caesar's Palace. It took us a bit to locate it as it's in the Forum Shops section. We went full circle before finding it. On our way out of Caesar's Palace my eyes were drawn to the beautiful and elaborate furniture and home decor displayed in the windows of a shop called Villa Reale.

Villa Reale is filled with furniture made with richly polished woods and elaborate detailing. It had an old world feel and as I said to my husband, "This is the kind of furniture you pass on to your kids--not stuff from The Brick or Leon's. I was particularly drawn to tables and curio cabinets made from burl walnut. I'd never seen wood like it. Neither had Marc and he used to work for a hardwood company in Edmonton.

We met Gil the sales manager (originally from New York...because as we've discovered NO ONE is from Las Vegas) and found out this shop delivers to Canada. Hmmmmm. We talked to Gil about Canada, politics (my favorite topic--NOT!) and his mom, who is also named Cheryl. When I gave Gil my bookmark for his mom, he tossed out the idea of having a book signing in his shop the next time we go to Vegas. I think that would be an awesome location--something different and unique. In fact, I'm thinking that Villa Reale would make a perfect signing spot when Finding Bliss comes out, but that won't be for a couple of years.

Afterward we headed to Treasure Island Hotel to see Mystere. This combination of aerial arts, dance, humor, acrobatics was absolutely mesmerizing. There were time I literally held my breath. I loved that there was audience participation--although some didn't volunteer. Of course my favorite volunteer was "Papa".

Mystere is so worth it and I highly recommend it. It's an entertaining show on so many levels. The music is haunting and tribal at times (loved the drums!!!) and highly dramatic, the costuming is vibrant and surreal and the choreography is stunning. This show performs on everchanging multiple stages, in the air, and even on walls. You've got to be alert, with your head swiveling, to catch it all. 5/5 stars!

Well, I'm getting ready for today's adventures. I'll tell you about them tomorrow. What I will tell you is that Las Vegas is a friendly place, full of excitement and topnotch entertainment. I have so enjoyed meeting the people here--tourists and residents.

iPhone novelist in Las Vegas in hopes of 'Finding Bliss'

This is Cheryl Kaye Tardif, now known as North America's first iPhone novelist, reporting live from Las Vegas. :-)

After a great flight here yesterday morning, we arrived at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino and were able to check in early. My first idea was to scope out the lay of the land, so to speak, and of course in Las Vagas this means checking out the casino. Our travel agent suggested we get a Player's Card, which is a points card that'll give you rewards later on--things like free buffets and more. We played some slots and roulette, then decided to check out the entertainment.

We've met some very nice people along the way--like the guy who sat next to me on the plane and told me about his fishing expeditions aound Vancouver Island (brought back lots of BC memories for me); and the very nice cab driver originally from Guam who drove my husband and I from the airport to the hotel; and the super nice woman originally from Wisconsin whom we talked to who was very honest about approaching us about time shares (talked to her a lot about Edmonton, Canada and I gave her a bookmark when I found out she enjoys reading); and the bartender at iBar in the Rio Hotel who's originally from California...hmmm...wonder if we'll actually meet anyone here who's originally from Las Vegas. :-)

Last night we saw Penn and Teller. We've watched their BULL show and some of their other shows on TV. At the end of a very entertaining show, they needed two volunteers who were familiar with guns. I expected a lot of hands to go up, including my husband's since he's ex-military. One guy at the far end put up his hand. He was in the army. I prodded Marc and said, "You should do it."

Much to my surprise, he did. He went up on stage, inspected a bullet, wrote his initials on the tip, drew a chubby heart on the shell casing and inspected a glass plate. He stood with Teller and inspected the gun. Everything appeared to be real for both volunteers so Penn and Teller proceeded to aim at each other's faces and shoot the guns. Throughout this I never saw them touch or make contact. The bullets ended up between their teeth. Penn spit the bullet into Marc's hand. Teller showed Marc the gun, which had the casing. Hmmm...how'd they do that?

One thing I always do when watching any kind of magic or illusion show is try to figure out how it's done. I've figured out quite a few, and some are obvious when you think about it. I enjoyed that Penn and Teller actually show you HOW some are done. But the gun thing? I don't have a clue.

Being here in the middle of such a vibrant, busy and exciting city really sparks the ideas for how I can incorporate Las Vegas into my iPhone novel Finding Bliss. The Mandalay Hotel may find its way into my novel too.

Bestselling author Cheryl Kaye Tardif heads for Vegas, baby!

Viva Las Vegas! I know I'll be singing that song for the next week as my husband and I head to Vegas for the first time tomorrow morning.

We're going to Las Vegas for three reasons:

1. a much needed holiday escape from cold Edmonton


2. bookstore research so I will know where to set up book signings next time we go (yes, there WILL be a next time)


3. a reconnaissance trip to scope out the lay of the land and Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino (as seen as the Montecito in the hit TV show 'Las Vegas') for possible inclusion in an upcoming novel. I'll also write up a review of Mandalay Bay and post it here, just in case any of you are thinking of taking a trip to Sin City. Who knew "sin" could be so much fun?

Regarding #3, I believe that Las Vegas and Mandalay Bay will play an important role in my new iPhone novel 'Finding Bliss'. So I am going to be checking out the hotel and area very carefully.

1. I expect I'll be broke within 10 minutes, but providing I'm not I may even tell you about my adventures with gambling. My husband is also looking at renting a luxury car for a day. His favorite pick was in the thousands for a day. I'll have to ask him which car it was.
   
   

   I'm also planning on doing some Random Acts of Divineness, as I am calling it. I will be giving away copies of my novels to random people I meet on my trip--or leaving them a book on their lounger by the pool.

Watch for an article on Cheryl and her iPhone novel Finding Bliss in the Edmonton Examiner

Today I was interviewed by Kevin at the Edmonton Examiner and we discussed my latest endeavor--writing a novel titled Finding Bliss on the new iPhone 3G.

Japan was the first to start a cell phone novel craze, with mainly teenage girls text messaging their novels in bits and pieces. The novels were then created into files that people could download and read on their cell phones. This resulted in many bestsellers.

I'm taking this concept to the next level. I'm writing a chapter at a time on my iPhone 3G, using the Notes application. Then I'm emailing it to myself so I can save it to my PC and edit from there. Plus, one of my characters will actually use an iPhone 3G in the story.

While many authors keep a notepad in their pocket or purse to capture their thoughts, all I need is my iPhone. So far, I've written the first chapter and have started on the second.

When I'm finished, Finding Bliss will be given to my agent in New York. I expect it will be first published in book form, although I am hoping to see an e-book version as well.

City TV follows Cheryl to Starbucks and Mill Woods Town Centre

This morning was a wild and wacky start to my day. City TV arrived to film me in various locations using my iPhone 3G and working on my novel Finding Bliss.

We started off in my house, where our puppy Chai did her best to get into the shots. The camera followed me to my office where I demonstrated how the iPhone plugs into my computer, making it easy for me to send infomation like my chapter files on Finding Bliss to my main home PC.

My assignment prior to this was to write down 4 sentences that I'd use in the novel. The funny thing was, I tried to do this about 3 times. But each time I started writing down my thoughts, I'd expand and get so caught up in Bliss' story that my 4 lines became 14. Ahhh...the mind of a writer. I can't shut it off even if I wanted to.

We filmed a bit at my kitchen table and then in my family room downstairs. That's where the idea for Finding Bliss first came to me.

Then we took a convoy of 3 vehicles, including the City TV van, to my favorite haunt--the one place that you can find me usually at least once a week. The new Starbucks at 17th St & 39th Ave. I call it MY Starbucks. Roan, the manager, was there with all his lovely, wonderful staff.

Take 97. Action!
Cheryl walks into a Starbucks, orders a venti Chai Tea Latte with 2 shots of Cinnamon Dolce, then sits in a highback chair and pulls out her iPhone. A-ha! Inspiration hits. She jots down some thoughts in the chapter marked "Finding Bliss ch. 1" and thanks God that the iPhone is so smart it guesses which word she actually wants to type.

Next, the convoy sets off for Mill Woods Town Centre, where I am filmed getting a little bite to eat, while I sit in the food court typing merrily away on my iPhone. This was where my husband and I had sat about a week ago when I actually did add more to my new novel. That's the convenience of using the iPhone instead of a bulky notepad. That and the fact that once I'm done typing, I email the Note to my home PC.

Take 264. Action!
Cheryl orders some Mexi-Fries (something I never eat), then sits down in the food court. Immediately she gets another brilliant idea and carefully pulls her iPhone from her purse (angling it so subtly so the camera can see). Then she is drawn back into Bliss's world.

Meet Bliss Morgan from 'Finding Bliss, the 1st novel to be written using the iPhone 3G

Since news of my new novel Finding Bliss has spread across North America, I've been asked many times why I've decided to write an entire novel using the Notes application on my iPhone 3G. But I haven't really told you much about how Bliss Morgan , the main character, came into existence.

For weeks now I've seen a commercial on TV advertising Bliss chocolates, individually wrapped squares of delicious Hershey's chocolate. The name caught my attention first. Bliss. Then I was drawn to the fancy scroll of the font.

My first thought was, "Wow! That would make a beautiful girl's name."

Bliss...

And--poof! There she was, in my mind, strong and clear, begging for her story to be told.

Bliss--a 14 year old girl with long blond hair and wounded, soulful eyes. Eyes that had seen far too much for a girl her age.

Within seconds her character began to take shape more fully.

Bliss--a damaged teenage girl who doesn't know where she fits in this world.

Bliss--a child of abuse and neglect who is placed in the care of others.

Bliss--a child searching for love in all the wrong places.

iPhone 3G & 'Finding Bliss' press releases sweep Canada and the US

This morning my publicist Rachel Sentes (from the fabulous OutRight Communications) sent out a major news release across Canada about how I am using the new iPhone 3G to write a novel titled Finding Bliss.

There's already been interest, and I'm expecting my day will be filled with phone calls and emails. I always get excited when I pass along what I think might be newsworthy enough for a press release. It's even better when my publicist tells me she thinks it's newsy too.

I believe I'll be the first author to attempt to write a complete novel using the Notes application on my iPhone 3G. I've even contacted Apple. I'm hoping they'll call back today.

Review of the iPhone: Finding Bliss on my new iPhone 3G!

I bought the new iPhone 3G a couple of weeks ago (the first Apple product I have owned), and I have to tell you--I LOVE IT! It is sheer "bliss". The phone is sleek and easy to hold. More importantly, it is super easy to use. Everything is activated by touch or a quick flick of your finger. And it's FUN! I've never had a "fun phone" before this.

I would recommend this phone to anyone, especially to those who have problems using the regular phone-style keypad to text. It is also the perfect phone to give to someone who may be "technically challenged" because once you comprehend how it works, it is easy to use.

Here are some of the things I like about the iPhone 3G:

Usefulness & User Friendly
In the past, my other cell phones have been used for the calendar, once in a blue moon for the game on it, but mostly as a phone--that's it. With my iPhone, I can:

• download my email contact list in Outlook (or others) so that I have all my contacts on my phone
• call friends just by touching their name in my contact list
• activate the speaker by one touch during any call
• access the internet and enlarge parts of any website or turn the iPhone horizontally for easier reading
• send out a Twitter post in seconds
• plan my schedule in the calendar (I actually use this more now)
• use Google Maps to help me navigate and GPS to see exactly where I am and what's around me (makes ordering pizza a breeze)
• download numerous applications, music, videos etc from iTunes, plus from my computer (did that all on day 1)
• take great pictures; it's a camera too--I can view them separately or as a slideshow
• download photos from my laptop or PC to my phone
• get a TV guide app that will show me what's on TV--great for when I'm traveling (only US for now but they promise Canadian compatibility is on the way)
• get a movie app that shows me what movies are on, where and when (even in Canada!)
• gives me a direct link to YouTube so I can watch clips (get the 6G or higher data package!)
• check the weather forecast for the week--anywhere (great for when traveling!)
• check our stocks (not a pretty picture right now!)
• set world clocks (great for traveling!)
• play numerous games that I can download from iTunes (many simulate the Wii experience)
• use as an iPod, complete with headphones and speaker so I can take calls while listening to music (much like having a bluetooth)
• send and receive email (easy to read and to type)
• easily send text messages*
• type notes and email them to myself so I can save on my PC**

*Texting
I could text on my last phone, but I hated using the tiny numerical keypad. I'm not a teenager that can rapidly fire off a whole paragraph in mere seconds. It took me forever to type a text message. So I rarely used that function.

With my new iPhone, texting is a breeze--and fun. It is made easy by the use of a simulated keyboard that pops up. Since I'm a writer, using a keyboard is second nature to me. The letters on the iPhone keyboard are quite large and easy to tap. When you tap a letter and hold for a second, the letter pops up enlarged, making it easier to read for those of us who have vision issues. I don't even need my reading glasses for this.

All text conversations are stored so you can flick back over a conversation that may have taken place over weeks. You can read both sides of the conversation in colored balloons. Or you can erase the conversation and start fresh.

**Notes

The notes application opens to a legal pad (yellow pad with lines). All you have to do is tap on a line to drop the cursor, then use the keyboard to type. With all typing on this phone, you can touch and hold and a magnifying bubble comes up, helping you to see the text more easily. This way you can move the cursor if you need to correct something. With the iPhone's smart technology, it'll offer you suggestions for words that you accept by tapping the space bar.

Finding Bliss

Two nights ago, I discovered just how much this note app will help me. I write novels--suspense mainly. Because my imagination is so active and is always "on", I am often blasted with an idea for a novel at the least convenient time. Sometimes while I'm driving, sometimes while I'm watching TV. In these cases, I scramble around for paper, write down my thoughts, then end up losing or misplacing the paper if I haven't entered the info on my computer.

Two nights ago this happened. I was watching TV and a commercial came on. It was for Bliss chocolates. First, it made me want chocolate (lol). But the more I looked at the word "Bliss" in its pretty scrolling font, the more I started to picture a young girl--named Bliss.

Then...BAM!

I was blasted with a story that made me sit up in my chair and reach for my iPhone. I couldn't let this idea or Bliss escape. I had to capture her story right away. So I made some notes. When I was done I had a very brief plot outline. I was extremely happy to see that I could email it to myself, which I did. Then I went on my PC, opened the email and copied the text into a new folder with the title of this new YA novel--Finding Bliss.

The following day I told my husband about my new novel idea and about Bliss and my iPhone note feature. While we sat in the mall, another piece of her story showed itself to me. So out came my iPhone, type-type-type send.

As my husband and I talked, he gave me a terrific idea. I am going to write Finding Bliss on my iPhone! A complete novel, using the notes feature. The iPhone will also be featured in my novel; someone will be using it. Marc suggested I contact Apple and let them know what I'm doing and how I'm using the new iPhone 3G. I think that's a great idea. They might get a kick out of the fact that a bestselling Canadian author is using her iPhone to write a novel.

I have already started Chapter 1 of Finding Bliss. My plan is to write it on the iPhone, then edit it on my PC.

As for Bliss chocolates, I bought a bag to celebrate. They're heavenly. :)

And my new novel? It will be a project of love.

Depression & Suicide: Help those in need step "Out of the Darkness"

If you've read my novel Whale Song or are familiar with the story of my brother Jason's murder in 2006, you'll know that depression is a topic I am familiar with. Depression hits hard and is often undiagnosed and unseen until too late. It led directly to my brother's death. He suffered from depression and it made it very difficult for him to hold down a job or stay in one place.

I am also familiar with suicide. My closest friend from childhood committed suicide years ago. And I have had my own personal battles with it in the past. Thoughts of suicide are practically an every day event for teens, and often for adults who can't cope with daily stress. Something must be done!

Karen, one of my good friends, shared with me the story of her husband's life...and his death. I was so saddened by what she told me. It brought such strong feelings within me. Most of all, I felt that her husband loved her deeply, but was just a lost soul who couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Those who choose to die can never see the light.

Karen wrote me recently about an event she is participating in, one that I have supported financially and one that I hope you'll consider supporting too. Here is her message, which she has asked me to post here.

Just over two years ago my husband died as a result of suicide after a life-long battle with depression. The last two months of his life were extremely hard for him, the pain of depression hurt throughout his entire body, and medications that he was given usually made the depression worsen or had side effects that were too difficult for him and one day he threw them all away. A few days later he was gone and my life, and all who loved him, have not been the same. So many times he would tell me that assisted suicide should be legal and that one day it will be, that I could mark his words.

I met Cheryl Kaye Tardif online and began a friendship with her after reading her latest novel, “Whale Song”. I wrote to tell her how much I enjoyed the book and that I could identify with each of the characters on almost every level and how touched I was by the story. This is a book that you should read, especially those that have lost someone that they love, no matter what type of loss. To me the book was haunting, spiritual, loving, insightful...I could go on and on.

On October 11th I will be taking part in the AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) Out of the Darkness Walk in Portland, Oregon. AFSP is a non-profit group that brings awareness to suicide, depression, and mental illness as well as offer support to those who have survived the loss of someone to suicide and those contemplating suicide. Sunday Salon: I received an ARC from Harlequin/MIRA

Today's Sunday Salon post is not a book review--not yet anyway. A week ago, I was contacted by author Rick Mofina, who asked me if I'd consider reviewing his newest thriller SIX SECONDS.
