Save Wild Roses! Season 2 cancelled

If you are a fan of the hit CBC television show 'Wild Roses', I've got some bad news for you. CBC has decided not to run another season. Wow...I am soooo disappointed. And so are many others.

This was one of the best Canadian TV shows we've ever had. Not to mention that Wild Roses ended with a bang at the end of the first season. I need closure! I need to find out if anyone dies in the explosion. They can't just leave us hanging like this. It's not fair!

There are only 2 Canadian shows I've been watching regularly--Wild Roses and Being Erica. Everything else is American. Not that I don't love their shows, I do. But Wild Roses really captured the Alberta flavor. Many of my US friends and fans wanted to watch it.

This is a sad time in Canadian television history. Cutting great shows like this is like taking away a part of our heritage, the part that makes us Canadian and keeps us so. Well, I'm taking a stand. I've signed a petition to save Wild Roses. I hope you'll consider signing it too.

CBC, don't axe this show! Wild Roses deserves its spot. Last month I signed a petition to save the CBC. If you keep cutting awesome shows like Wild Roses, next time I won't bother.

UPDATE May 1, 2010: Sadly, this awesome Canadian TV series is cancelled and there are no plans it seems to bring it back. If you have enjoyed this taste of Canadian drama and are looking for more, I invite you to check out my novels--all set in areas of Canada. I can promise you lots of drama, suspense and sometimes romance. Please drop by my website and check me out. http://www.cherylktardif.com

Hey Cheryl. I agree with you about Wild Roses. It was a great show. So sorry they aren't renewing it. However you said that you only watch 2 Canadian shows one being Wild Roses and the other Being Erica. The other Canadian show that captures Alberta even better than Wild Roses is Heartland. Do you not watch it? This is there 3rd season coming up and it is a great show.I am surprised you don't know about it. You should check it out.

I am familiar with Heartland, but it never really interested me--perhaps because I noticed the younger actors in it. When I first saw the promos, I thought it was for a younger audience, although I know there are a lot of adults that watch it.

Really I just missed getting on the boat. I rarely ever watch a show starting with a 3rd season. Or it could be that it's scheduled at the same time as another favorite show. I've heard Heartland is a very good show.

I think the other reason why Wild Roses really interested me was that I was contacted by a friend who is related to one of the actors. :-)

Everyone knows there are only a handful of shows that are worth watching on TV and they are: "Wild Roses", Rick Mercer, The Tudors, Heartland, The Hour, Little Mosque On The Prairie, Coronation Street, Dragon's Den, The National, Ron James. The Fall selection of programs are excellent but CBC, you must bring back "Wild Roses" this Spring 2010. This is a terrific series with great actors and plot. It wouldn't be a complete t.v. week without it in the listings. I vote for CBC to bring back "Wild Roses" in 2010!

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering how many people do we need to sign to get it back on! They just can't end it like that! This sucks because I just watched all of the first season on Hulu and enjoyed every minute of it. I loved it so much I went to search.com and typed in the show and was looking for when the next season started so I could start watching it again. I already have it for Hulu to let me know when a new episode comes in but what good is it now if they never start up again. This is the best show I have seen in a long, long time. I was wondering if it was based off a book. Also, I have posted it both on my Facebook as well as on Twitter. I also posted the Hulu page so maybe others who have not seen the show will watch it and help us save it. I hope they do come back. Thanks again for starting this petition! Cross your fingers!

I can't get over how much internet traffic I get from people wanting to know more about Wild Roses and wanting a new season. Sadly, it's been over a year now and I haven't heard a thing...but I will check with one of my friends who happens to be one of the stars of Wild Roses.

Please note: I didn't start the petition, but I sure signed it! :-)

Honestly, I went to UofA for almost four years and as an international student who totally integrated and loved Alberta, I really enjoyed finding Wild Roses back home on satellite television. Please bring it back!

By the way, sorry for dissenting but the best Canadian show ever is Trailer Park Boys.

Wow!! I am an American and I just finished watching the 1st Season of Wild Roses and I thoroughly enjoyed the series. It's a shame that CBS cancelled this show. It really aggravates me when a channel has a good series going they up and cancel it. Have you thought of going to another public broadcast channel because I feel in my gut you would have quite a few viewers. Shame on CBS..this day their all about Reality Shows which I don't enjoy watching.
Hope this show is brought back. Thank you for the entertainment.

Bring back Wild Roses!! Had I known there wasn't another season at least I would have been prepared. Terrible way to be left hanging!!!!

I wish if they weren't going to renew a season they would let you know before you start watching, when it tells you season one you assume there is more!!!

I just finished The Wild Roses, fell in love with this show and all the characters. I did a search to find out when the next series will begin and I CAN NOT BELIEVE CBS CANCELLED IT!!! Someone needs to pick this up and finish this at least! Heartland is very successful and it's not near as good I just don't get it??
